Hrithik Roshan, looking dapper in jeans, shirt and a casual weekend jacket, was accompanied by Joy Alukkas, the founder of the jewellery brand and other key people from the company for the inauguration ceremony.
The actor inaugurated the Mulund showroom at 11am and the Vashi (New Bombay/Navi Mumbai) store at 5pm on the same day. The ceremony saw the actor cut the ribbon amid loud applause and light big traditional lamps (vellakku) inside the stores.
He even performed his famous dance sequence at the launch occasion.
“Joyalukkas is a global brand with a customer base of over 10 million people worldwide. It offers its customers wide choice of jewellery designs from around the world. I am very proud to represent this super-brand on a global level,” said Hrithik Roshan at the occasion.
The two new Mumbai stores will have signature Joyalukkas large format designs and will join the brand’s already existing Mumbai store at Bandra’s Turner Road.
The two new showrooms form part of the Dubai-based retailer’s objective to have 100 stores across ten countries by March 2014, said its chairman Joy Alukkas. The brand currently has 85 outlets across nine countries today including the UK, India, Singapore, and UAE and other Middle East countires. It has a revenue of over $1bn.
Both the new Joyalukkas showrooms will feature its signature large format retail designs and will be home to over 1 million jewellery designs in gold, diamond, precious stones, polki platinum and pearl, Alukkas said.
Hrithik Roshan is the brand ambassador of Joyalukkas alongside other celebrities including R Madhavan, Shreya Goshal, Suresh Gopi and Allu Arjun.
