The Bollywood diva and Bachchan bahu has been L’Oreal Paris’s Indian ambassador since 2000. However, in 2011, there were rumours that L’Oreal has opted for Frieda Pinto for a more internationally-renowned Indian face. However, L’Oreal dismissed those suggestions and clarified that Rai remains its brand ambassador.
The 39-year-old actress, who is touted as the ‘most beautiful woman’ is the brand ambassador for several international brands including L’Oreal and Longines watches. Rai’s international appeal has also earned her more crucial roles such as becoming the UN goodwill ambassador in 2012, becoming a jury member of the Cannes International film festival and landing Hollywood film projects.
Aishwarya Rai’s last Bollywood film was the critically-acclaimed film Guzaarish directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In Guzaarish, she played Sofia D'Souza, a nurse who has been taking care of Ethan Mascarenhas (Hrithik Roshan) who is paralysed from neck down.
Since becoming a mother, Rai has maintained that she is open to doing films if good scripts come her way but has not signed any projects so far.
