Bollywood Badshaah Shah Rukh Khan made Eid 2015 special for his fans with the release of a one-minute trailer of upcoming Bollywood film Raees. The official teaser (see below) shows King Khan in an all-new avatar and a gripping performance. Raees is slated for a release around Eid 2016.
The much-awaited teaser, which was released on the auspicious occasion of Eid became instantly popular on social media sites, crossing 1.5 million views in 2 days since release. Raees’s teaser picked up despite the popularity of just-released films including Salman Khan’s superhit Bajrangi Baijaan.
The 1.5 minute teaser shows SRK as a serious and sinister character in a 70s inspired look. SRK is also seen delivering punchy dialogues such as:
Raees, directed by Rahul Dholakia, is a crime drama set on Gujarat in the 80s and portrays Shah rukh as a sharp and influential liquor baron who will go to any extreme for his business. But his business is seriously threatened by a tough policeman (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui). The teaser shows Shah Rukh deliver a punchy dialogue: “Ammijaan kehti thi, koi dhanda chota nahi hota; Aur dhande se bada koi dharam nahi hota”. The gritty trailer shows SRK emerge confidently from a backdrop of fire, violence and fights.
The actor welcomed the popularity of Raees teaser and said on Twitter: “Thanx everyone for Raees teaser feedback. My fav response was "Jalebi se meetha toh mera halwai hai". Love you all....for so much positivity!”
