Forbes' highest paid actors list 2015: Three Bollywood stars in the top ten actors
The three Indian stars – all newcomers to the list this year - also beat British actor Daniel Craig (number 15) – the only British actor to feature in the long list of high earners from the film fraternity.
Surprisingly, big names including Brad Pitt, George Clooney or Tom Hanks or Bollywood's Shah Rukh Khan or Aamir Khan did not make it in the top ten. But Superstars Shah Rukh Khan (18th) and Ranbir Kapoor (30th) appeared further down in the list of 34 global actors.
According to Forbes, Indian stars' contingent was the largest, behind only US. The five Bollywood stars together had earnings of $140m (£90m). Bachchan and Salman Khan had a similar earning of around $33.5m beating US household names such as Ben Affleck. Akshay Kumar, at number 9 had earnings only slightly lower at $32.5m in annual earnings. According to Forbes this was higher than Hollywood stars George Clooney and Brad Pitt's combined earnings.
Calling Shah Rukh as “India’s Leonardo DiCaprio”, Forbes ranked him 18th on the list with earnings of $26m. Ranbir Kapoor, meanwhile was 30th on the list with earnings of $15m.
The top three highest paid actors in Forbes' 2015 list were Robert Downey Jr, Jackie Chan, and Vin Diesel together netting almost $180m.
