London 2012 Paralympic Games: List of Indian contingent members

London 2012 Paralympic Games’ Opening Ceremony kicked off at the Olympic Village in London on August 29, 2012. Indian Paralympic athletes are looking to recreate the success India enjoyed at the Olympic Games. Here’s the full list of the Indian contingent at the 14th Paralympic Games.

The Indian contingent included a total of 21 members including ten athletes, six coaches and five escorts. Athlete Jagbir Singh was the Indian flag-bearer for the contingent parade at the Paralympics opening ceremony.

24-year old Girisha Hosanagara Nagarajegowda (HN Girisha) has won a silver medal for the Indian team in the high jump event at London 2012 Paralympics.

The London 2012 Paralympics opening ceremony is called Enlightenment and showcased the achievements of British disabled artists and performers, including members of the charity Aerobility. The event also featured a parade of athletes from each of the competing nations, before the cauldron was lit by the Paralympic flame, marking the official start of the 14th Paralympic Games.
