It's a baby girl for Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra!

Bollywood actor Rani Mukerji has given birth to a baby girl on Wednesday, December 9th and the couple have named the girl Adira (combining both parents' names). Both mom and baby are said to be doing well.

Rani and her media-shy husband Aditya Chopra have kept their private lives very private and the actress has maintained a very low profile during her nine months of pregnancy. The couple are yet to release the photograph of the baby but Rani has reportedly said that Adira is "God's greatest gift to the couple" while thanking fans and well-wishers.

Rani, 37, delivered the baby at Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital. Yash Raj Films, on its official Twitter account wrote: "Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra become proud parents to a baby girl named 'Adira'.". Uday Chopra, Bollywood actor and Rani's brother-in-law also announced the welcoming of the baby girl on his Twitter account.

A heavily pregnant Rani Mukerji attended the Bachchan's Diwali party at their home in Mumbai. Actor Preity Zinta, Rani's close friend said: "Never seen Rani look so beautiful & glow as much as she did on Diwali Night."

Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra married in Italy in April 2014. Rani Mukerji, who has acted in many superhit movies including YRF's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Hum Tum, and Veer Zaara was last seen playing a lead role in critically-acclaimed Mardaani released in 2014.
