Amid the chaos after the demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 by PM Narendra Modi, majority of Indians were motivated to put up with the inconvenience for the benefits in the ‘long run’. Now suddenly, 'Modi Takes Bribe' (#ModiTakesBribe) is trending on Twitter with people agitated over alleged evidence of Modi taking bribe by Birla Group in 2012.

It is not proven if the evidence shared on Twitter are legitimate or not and the PM has not yet commented on it.

According to Twitter pictures and tweets, 25-crore rupees were transferred to Gujarat CM in 2012. In 2013, an alleged IT raid on Aditya Birla Group yielded a laptop which mentions a transaction record “Gujarat CM-25 crores. Many are stunned on Twitter saying: This is shocking.

AAm Aadmi Party (AAP) shared a picture of a document on Twitter adding: “Income Tax document proving Modi Takes Bribe (#ModiTakesBribe). "The laptop exposing the transaction was of Shubhendu Amitabh, Group Executive President of Aditya Birla Group at that time," AAP tweeted.

The Twitter picture comes amid chaos from last week over the sudden demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes with a tearful Modi appealing to Indians to put up with the inconvenience to see the nation progress and become free of corruption.
