Starting from August 1, India’s national carrier Air India will start a service between Indian cities Amritsar and Delhi and UK city Birmingham.

The service will operate four days a week including Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The flight – AI 113 – will take off from Amritsar at 10.30am local time, reach Delhi at 11.50am. It will then depart from Delhi at 1.30pm and reach Birmingham at 6.00pm local time.

The return flight -- AI 114 -- is scheduled to take off from Birmingham at 9.30pm and reach Delhi the next day at 10.05am. The flight for Amritsar will leave Delhi at 12.05pm and arrive in Amritsar at 01.05pm.

Air India’s Amritsar-Delhi-Birmingham-Delhi-Amritsar route service will feature the state-of-the-art Dreamliner aircraft. The ailing national carrier purchased 27 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircrafts in September last year.

Air India became the first Indian airline and world’s fifth airline to take the delivery of a 787 Dreamliner. The airline aims to save costs on fuel efficiency with the new fuel-efficient Dreamliner aircrafts.
