London Fashion Week (LFW): Pics, facts and stats
Fashion artists such as Christopher Kane, Erdem, Mary Katrantzou, Marios Schwab, Jonathan Saunders will be seen alogside iconic British designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith, and heritage international brands including Burberry Prorsum, Mulberry and Pringle of Scotland.
"We have astonishingly creative people working in the capital, bringing energy and ideas as well as generating business," said the Mayor of London Boris Johnson.

"Over just a few days London fashion Week showcases our best fashion designers, puts London's creative industries on the front pages and brings in over £100m of orders alone," Johnson added.

- Organised by British Fashion Council, LFW is funded by sponsors including Vodafone, American Express, TopShop, Lavazza, M.A.C, F&F at Tesco, The Mayfair Hotel, DHL,LG, Samsung and Canon among others
- The direct value of the UK fashion industry to the UK economy is £21bn
- There will be 62 catwalk shows in all spread over the 5 days (14-18 September)
- 110 UK and international emerging and established, ready-to-wear and accessory designers at The Exhibition at London Fashion Week (LFW)
- Philip Treacy, the Irish milliner who was honoured with an OBE for the services to the British fashion industry, is returning to show at LFW this year
- International buyers from 28 countries are attending London Fashion Week this year
- It is estimated that orders of over £100m are placed during LFW each season; the International Guest Programme alone generates over £74m of orders
- More than 5,000 visitors including buyers, TV & radio crews, journalists and photographers will attend LFW
- Media coverage of the London Fashion Week equals or exceeds most major news and international sporting events
- UK media coverage each season exceeds £100m and media coverage from the International Guest Programme exceeds £61m
- Oxford Economics estimates that Sales of UK designer clothing have been rising by around 20% a year in the last decade, and are currently worth somewhere between £2.5 and £2.9bn, Oxford Economics estimated
- The UK fashion industry is estimated to support 816,000 jobs and is the largest employer of all the creative industries. The sector also provides opportunities to minority groups to a greater extent than most other creative industries.
