It also stars Randeep Hooda, Boman Irani and Dimple Kapadia. The film is about three friends in London – Meera Gupta (Penty) who is left high-and-dry after being conned to a hoax marriage with Kunal Ahuja (Hooda). She befriends Veronica D’Costa (Padukone), a sexy, free-spirited girl. Chalk and cheese, Meera and Veronica become good friends. Enter Gautam Kapoor (Khan), a care-free and flirtatious character who gets close to both Meera and Veronica. The trio live under the same roof as best friends until things get complicated with Veronica falling for Gautam and Gautam in turn developing feelings for Meera - a girl who will meet his mother's 'approval'.

Most of the film is shot in London’s iconic landmarks such as Borough market, Portobello Road, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, Mayfair, Battersea Park, Bank, St. Pauls, picturesque Colville Gardens (Notting Hill Gate), and Brick Lane. One of the film’s highlight is Padukone’s dance on the table at The Grand nightclub in Clapham Junction, London. 

Cocktail is currently screened across many cinemas in London.
