Piku Trailer: Deepika Padukone - Irrfan Khan's onscreen and off screen chemistry
Piku, releasing on May 8th, is a story about a father-daughter relationship (played by Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone) but also includes a parallel storyline tracking Piku (played by Deepika) and Irrfan Khan's character. The comedy drama explores the 'motion' related eccentricities of a senile father. The potty-drama has catchy one-liners such as "Aadmi ka emotion uske motion se juda hota hai" and "Aap har baat ko pet ke saath kaise jod dete hain" among others.
Ahead of the release of the trailer, many questioned the unusual pairing of Deepika and Irrfan. But Piku's trailer released on March 25th to resounding acceptance not just from the high profile cast's fan-base but also from the film fraternity.
The audience appreciated the father-dauther duo's affectionate relationship and the romantic pair's matured chemistry. The trailer has become a talking point on social media with audiences praising the lead pair.
But the pairing has received overwhelming thumbs up from Bollywood film lovers. Their chemistry onscreen translates to great camaraderie off screen too. At the launch event of the trailer, Deepika looked beautiful in an olive green skirt paired with casual stripy top. Co-actor Irrfan Khan was also dressed in a shirt sporting similar combination.
A source close to the duo said, “It was just a mere coincidence and was not planned.”
The talented duo who captivated all by their really easy and healthy chemistry were also seen wearing the same pastel green.
Though Deepika is Irrfan’s love interest in the film, he is not your typical lover boy. The trailer shows the couple to be matured lovers. Despite daughter-father being centre to Piku's plot, Irrfan Khan brings his character to life with promising performance in the trailer. The fans have appreciated Deepika's performance in the trailer too.
Bollywood comedy-drama Piku, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan in lead roles is directed by Shoojit Sircar and is scheduled to release on May 8, 2015. Here is the trailer of Piku, which crossed 1.5 million views in three days of its release.
