Ram Leela first look: Deepika Padukone mesmerises in desi Juliet avatar
The desi Romeo Juliet drama which features Ranveer Singh alongside Padukone is slated to release on November 15, 2013.
In Ram Leela, Deepika Padukone will be seen in a distinctly different role from her recent characters including her character Veronica in Cocktail and Elena in Race 2.
The 27-year-old Bollywood sensation will be donning a traditional desi avatar for her character “Leela” in the Bhansali film. The trailer shows Deepika playing a feisty Gujarati character in the film.
Deepika shared the first look of Ram Leela with her fans on her official Twitter page. She is seen wearing a grandiose green lehenga and staring at the horizon with Ranveer Singh.
Ahead of sharing the first look of Ram Leela, the actress posted on her Twitter handle: “Surprise! Surprise! coming up tomorrow!!!”.
The Cocktail actress has her hands full with promosing Bollywood projects in 2013 including Bhansali’s Ram Leela, Chennai Express with Shah Rukh Khan, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani with her ex-flame Ranbir Kapoor and Tamil period drama Kochadaiyaan with South Indian superstar Rajinikanth.

Ram Leela was previously meant to cast Kareena Kapoor but she was replaced by Deepika Padukone.
The actress’s chemistry with co-star Ranveer Singh has been widely praised with many reports suggesting that the two are dating. However, Deepika has maintained silence with regards to her personal life.
Ranveer Singh, of Band Baaja Baarat fame will also be seen in two other Bollywood films in 2013 which include Gunday and Lootera.
