Shah Rukh Khan denies gender test as baby AbRam Khan comes home
As the baby is brought home, SRK denied carrying out gender tests for the first time since reports emerged that the couple “knew” the sex of the baby.
In India where female infanticide is high, carrying out gender tests or finding the baby’s sex before it is born is illegal. It was reported in June that the superstar had carried out pre-birth sex determination test on the child and that the couple were expecting a baby boy.
Health officials in India were investigating the claims but SRK and Gauri Khan both did not comment on the reports and claims of the gender tests at that time.
But as baby AbRam Khan comes home, SRK has broken the silence and has vehemently denied any “irregularities” around the baby’s birth.
"Just to put the record straight there was no sex determination for our child," Shah Rukh Khan said in a statement quoted by newspapers.

"The baby was born much before the speculation of 'sex determination' and other 'issues' pertaining to the same were being raised in the media,” he added.
AbRam Khan, born via a surrogate mother, was born prematurely by several months, but has finally come home, he confirmed adding “Gauri and our whole family have been dealing with his health issues for a long time now.”
Shah Rukh Khan’s statement did not confirm when baby AbRam was born but he clarified that the baby was born before the media speculations on gender tests began.
Shah Rukh Khan, 47, and his wife Gauri already have two teenaged children -- son Aryan (16) and daughter Suhana (13). AbRam khan will be the couple’s third child.
The actor has not shared any details about AbRam Khan with his Twitter fans but took to the social media site to wish everyone Ramadan Mubarak. He also said: “The deepest emotion a man ever feels is...the struggle of his own littleness to grasp the infinite. Need to overcome it...or at least try.”
SRK will next be seen on the silver screens later this year when his film Chennai Express releases.
