EU may relax visa rules for Indian tourists
The EU’s move comes as the region is looking to boost revenue amid the intensifying Eurozone crisis. India is also considered as one of the fastest-growing outbound travel market.
The EU is looking to create more flexible visa rules for tourists coming to the region from India, according to Antonio Tajani, vice president, industry and entrepreneurship, European Commission (EC) while addressing a visiting delegation of prominent Indian professionals including key members of industry body Ficci.
In a similar move, Australia’s tourism board had said it is developing a strategy to attract around 50 million Indian tourists -- the number of Indians who are likely to travel abroad by 2020.
