First Look: Vidya Balan in disguise in Bobby Jasoos

The film, which is slated for a summer 2014 release, is a comedy-drama with Balan in the lead role. Bobby Jasoos is produced by Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha under Mirza’s banner Born Free Entertainment.

The story revolves around Vidya Balan’s character – Bobby -- and is a pulsating, thrilling and most importantly heartwarming tale of a woman who dreams to become the numero uno private eye of her community.

The film’s first look reveals actress Vidya Balan in two avatars. In the first look, she is seen as a vibrant Indian woman with her trademark simple looks.

But the actress is almost unrecognisable in her second avatar – that of a bearded tramp wearing a lungi on a pavement.

Alongside Balan, Arjan Bajwa, Anupriya, Supriya Pathak, Tanvi Azmi, Aakash Dahiya, Rajender Gupta and actor Ali Faizal, who was seen in 3 Idiots and Fukrey will play prominent roles.

Bobby Jasoos also marks the return of Kiran Kumar, who has been away from the big screen, in a dynamic new avatar.

Bobby Jasoos is being shot in one schedule in Hyderabad over a span of 55 days and will showcase “never seen before real locations that stand testament to the vibrant and royal cultural history of Hyderabad,” according to the producers.

Producer Dia Mirza said: “The idea of Bobby Jasoos was born over a year and a half ago.

“Vidya has ably led from the front and her dedication to preparing for this part is evidence to the fact that she is an actor who continues to respects the craft and is hungry for more despite achieving so much already. I can't wait for Bobby to be unleashed!" she exclaimed.
