Labour party’s Jagdish Sharma, the councilor of Hounslow West, will participate in a Question Time-like event on September 22 at Hounslow’s Community Fair. Residents will have the chance to quiz him on issues that matter to them.

The leader’s Question Time event is a highlight of the borough’s Community Fair, which will showcase everything the borough has to offer and mark the council’s summer celebration.

Hounslow Community Fair will take place from 11am to 5pm in Lampton Park, Lampton Road, Hounslow on Saturday, September 22.

As well as councilor Sharma, panelists will include representatives from the borough’s partners in the health service and Metropolitan Police, and the session will be chaired by Hounslow’s chief executive, Mary Harpley.

"This is the chance for you to ask us about the things that are important to you, and I can give you my commitment to be open and transparent in answering your questions,” Sharma has said before the event.

"I hope that many of you will come along and take part; you can  or fill in question cards on the day so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved," he added.

The format of the local Q&A session at the Community Fair will remain faithful to BBC’s Question Time format, with questions taken from the audience and the chair selecting which panel member will go to first for a response.

As well as the leader’s Question Time event, there will be a range of activities for children and young people, plus music, arts and dance and food reflecting our diverse communities at Hounslow Community Fair.

Hounslow council will also be launching a special commemorative booklet featuring photographs from the summer of celebration. All proceeds from the booklet, which costs just 50p, will go to the Alzheimer’s Society Hounslow.

Are you a resident of Hounslow? Will you attend the Community Fair and do you have any pressing questions to ask the leader?
